AMERICAN BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGY

INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING YOUR CE REQUIREMENTS;

I. As endorsed at the ABN meeting in October, 1993 continued education is required from ABN

Diplomates. The requirement is 18 qualified credits of continuing education per calendar year. The credits should meet the following qualifications:

• The course is provided by an institution approved the APA to offer CE:

• The course approved by individual state psychological associations or boards of psychology qualifying for Category A or 1 credit;

• The course is provided by an institution accredited or approved offer qualifying CE by the diplomate's county or state medical society or by the American Medical Association;

• The course approved by the diplomate's county or stale medical association, or by the AMA as qualifying for Category A or Category 1 credit.

The requirements may also be satisfied by the following criteria:

1. Developing and presenting CE activities which meet the criteria. Up to three hours of credit (for time spent in preparation) may be claimed for each hour of the activity, with a maximum of 12 credits per reporting period. Each activity may be claimed once per two-year reporting period.

    

2. Preparing and presenting a scientific paper at a meeting of a professional or scientific organization. Up to three hours of credit (for time spent in preparation) may be claimed for each hour of the presentation, with a maximum of 6 credits per paper.

    

3. Performing as the author, editor or reviewer of a professional publication. These credits may be earned only in the year of publication.

2. The 18 CE credits need not be all acquired during one calendar year. Rather, there may be an average of 18 qualifying credits per year over a three year period.
3. Compliance with previous years requirements should be indicated on the dues statement each year.
4. In case an audit should be necessary. PLEASE KEEPIN YOUR FILES DOCUMENTATION OF CE CREDITS REPORTED. This documentation should include a list of reported credits. Including titles, presenters. dates, sponsors, and number of credits. For publications, list date, author/editor/reviewer, and citation.
